Meet the Team

Kenny and Kirsten King

Kenny and Kirsten live in Saint Paul. They have been serving Capital City Church as a pastoral team overseeing teaching and congregational engagement since August 2023. They love Saint Paul, and love being a part of the Capital City church community. Their desire is for Capital City Church to remain a place where people grow in their love for God and faithfully love their neighbor as themselves.

They both received Bachelor’s degrees from the University of Northwestern, Saint Paul, Minnesota, then married and moved to Illinois where Kenny completed his MDiv at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, IL, and their four children were born. They served there for six years at Village church of Lincolnshire.

They moved to Willmar, MN and worked at the EFCA church of Willmar for 19 years. During this time Kenny completed his Doctor of Ministry in Youth and Family Ministries from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California. They moved to Saint Paul and served at an EFCA church in Maplewood for 12 years. During this time Kirsten earned her Master of Theological Studies from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.

Kenny and Kirsten are adjunct professors in the Christian Ministries Department at UNWSP. Kirsten is an active speaker at conferences, camps and events. They enjoy spending time with their family; four adult kids and their spouses and seven grandchildren. They both love to read, run, and travel. Kenny loves to bike, drive buses, get breakfast with friends and eat Italian food. Kirsten is an avid sports fan and enjoys games, lunch with friends, coffee, writing and shoes.

Kari Berglund

Kari and her husband, Eric, live in Hugo and have two kids. She works in the accounting department at the EFCA national office.

Kari is grateful to serve on the Ministry Leadership Team and is actively involved in the worship ministry. She especially values the sense of unity within the Capital City community and is passionate about the church’s mission to reach beyond its walls and engage the broader community.

In her free time, Kari enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends, and planning travel adventures.

Caleb Hardacre

Caleb lives in Hugo with his wife Rachel, and their two children. Their family enjoys spending time together through various activities, including gardening and reading.

Caleb works as a high school math teacher and values the relationships he builds with his students.

Caleb is involved with the Ministry Leadership Team and the Finance committee. Has been attending Capital City since March 2022.

Jacob lives in Maplewood with his wife, Heather, two kids, two cats and one snake. Together they like to go for walks or bike rides around Lake Phalen when the weather is nice, or they spend their time working on arts and crafts indoors.

Jacob works as an electrical engineer designing specialized material handling systems, and he particularly enjoys mentoring junior engineers. Outside of that, he enjoys biking, snowshoeing, cooking, getting caught up in new hobbies with his wife, and as of recently he's been getting into sewing and embroidery.

Jacob has attended Capital City Church since the beginning of the church and is currently serving with Capital Kids and is the secretary on MLT.

Jacob Harrison

Dustin and Amanda Loge

Hi, we’re the Loges! We live in Saint Paul with our three kids.

Dustin is a teacher in the Saint Paul School system. He joined Capital City with his family as the church was starting in 2018. He serves on the Ministry Leadership Team, participates as a part of the Good Neighbor team, and helps with managing the building and grounds of the Capital City Church building.

Amanda values time with family and friends and works in public education. She enjoys reading, being outdoors, taking her dog on long walks, spectating at her kids’ sporting events, and opportunities to travel and learn. Amanda serves on the Ministry Leadership Team and the Good Neighbor team, which partners with Arrives Ministries to serve refugee families in Saint Paul.

Nate Miller

Nate lives in Maplewood along with his wife Jess and their five kids. They love to play, build, learn, and serve together as a family.

Nate serves on the Ministry Leadership Team and partners with Jess to oversee the CapitalKIDS ministry, providing age-appropriate worship and educational opportunities during the second half of the Sunday service.

Erin and her husband Josh live in Saint Paul, where they love to go on walks and explore new places. They have attended Capital City Church since early 2023. Erin joined the Ministry Leadership Team in the spring of 2025 with a focus on hospitality.

During the week, Erin works in HR for a commercial HVAC company. She enjoys getting lost in a good book, perfecting a cup of coffee, traveling, and spending her time with loved ones.
